The session of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church would like to welcome you to our website.
We hope that this website will help you to find valuable information concerning this congregation, the OPC, and the Reformed Faith; that you will profit from the sermons that are uploaded each week; and, most of all, that you will be encouraged to come and worship with us at Calvary Church.
The name Calvary (or Golgotha in Greek) comes from the location, just outside the walls of Jerusalem, where Christ Jesus, the incarnate Son of God, was pierced for our transgressions by being crucified on a Roman cross, there bearing the weight of the sin of His people as the only true and acceptable sacrifice for sin before our just and living God.
We confesses the death of Christ Jesus in the place of sinners who call on Him, but also that He rose from the grave victorious over the powers of sin and death. There is, therefore now no condemnation for any who are found in Him.
Declaring the perfect satisfaction of Christ’s saving work, not basing our hope on our own righteousness, but wholly on His righteousness, death and resurrection, we desire, with love and humility, to serve the people of Middletown, Pennsylvania, the greater Harrisburg area, and all the nearby communities where our members live.
Above all we seek to glorify, honor and praise our triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with our lives and worship.
We invite you to join with us, as we lay the burden of our sin at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ, finding peace, rest and reconciliation with our sovereign and holy God.
